Star rap producer Metro Boomin has announced his upcoming album, Heroes & Villains, and also released a short film to promote it. In the video, Atlanta rappers Young Thug and Gunna also make a surprise appearance.
The video starts with a narration by legendary actor Morgan Freeman, and the graphics are comic book-style. In addition, the narrative begins with “the people need a hero,” which Metro Boomin plays in the short film.
Actor Lakeith Stanfield, known for the television show Atlanta, is also featured in the short film and plays the role of the villain, who is seen deranged while driving a fire truck.
Thugger and Gunna are seen together in the short film as news anchors for “P News,” which mimics Gunna’s hit “Pushing P” from his album DRIP SEASON 4EVER. Both rappers are currently still incarcerated for their indictment on RICO charges.
Moreover, Morgan Freeman plays the role of a mentor to Metro Boomin and advises him to “save the city” and be a hero. The video ends with Metro riding in his “Metro mobile,” ready to save the city from harm, with background vocals from Atlanta rapper and frequent collaborator Future.
Metro’s album was pushed back to be released on December 2 as he announced on Twitter.
Atlanta rapper Lil Baby stopped by Sway In The Morning to talk about his new album, It’s Only Me.
He also gave an update on Atlanta rappers Young Thug and Gunna, while sharing that he calls them frequently and checks on their parents.
