Young Slo-Be was a Northern Californian rapper hailing from Stockton, California. He first rose to prominence in 2019 with the single “21:42,” alongside the artist Bris. The single eventually gained traction on both YouTube and SoundCloud. In the last three years, he released eight projects. Three of these have been under his name and the rest under the entertainment companies KoldGreedy and Thizzler On The Roof.
Over the summer of 2022, he released his album Southeast with features including, EBK Yung Joc, Daboii (of SOB X RBE), and Mac J. Since his passing he has accumulated over 100k followers on Instagram and is currently sitting on more than one million monthly listeners on Spotify.

The new single features a loop from the classic 1996 song “Pony” by Ginuwine. Alongside this single, he shot the video in Los Angeles sometime in July and was released on YouTube at the beginning of September. It features graphic visuals, a video girl, and his friends from the rap group EBK Hotboiiz. The whole video is a vibe, and you can tell everyone is chilling and having a great time.
Tragically, on August 5th, 2022, just a week after the video shoot, Young Slo-Be passsed away. The autopsy report claimed that it was from a fatal shooting. Personally, I am extremely saddened that another young, talented rapper and father’s life was intentionally stolen. He was truly a unique artist and pioneer within the Bay Area sound. It’s so crucial for us to truly cherish each day because you never know when it’s going to be our last. REST IN PEACE YOUNG SLO-BE.
