SZA’s S.O.S. album receives artwork, it’s slated to release in December.
SZA has finally revealed the artwork for her new album S.O.S.
The album artwork comes after she’s breadcrumbed a few singles that have made noise online and on the Billboard charts in recent years: “I Hate U” which came in 2021 and “Good Days” from 2020. Though these singles aren’t recent they’ve been substantial enough to keep her top of mind for many of her fans who have been patiently awaiting another album from the singer. “Shirt” which was a loosie her fans had heard years back arrived not too long ago. Neptunes-produced “Hit Different” featuring Ty Dolla $ign was another surefire sign that a cohesive album was in the works, it was revealed two years back.
She’s also sprinkled other releases that have also been notable moments. Her feature on Doja Cat‘s “Kiss Me More” is one that stood out in 2021. Doechii‘s “Persuasive” which featured SZA was perhaps her most interesting song of 2022.
A lot is riding on the singer’s back since she last revealed Ctrl, her Grammy Award-nominated album that was highly relatable. Ctrl was excellent in how it captured her angst, her coyness, and also the facets that make her the artist that was heralded as a face of TDE.
Recently, SZA shared some thoughts on how she’s been coping with sudden fame which began in 2017 in a feature with Billboard. On balancing fame she shared: “I could literally burst into tears and run through this wall at any moment. I am effectively falling apart.”
She added:
“But it’s not like, the album pressure… It’s just, life is f–king hard. To be expected to do anything at a high level while life is life-ing is f–king crazy. This isn’t meant for a person; it’s meant for a machine.”
Per Billboard SZA’s S.O.S. is set to release in December.
