Iggy Azalea says 8-figure catalog deal has her financially set for life
Iggy Azalea has been well-known in the music industry, since 2014. At the time, her breakout “Fancy” single featuring Charli XCX became the biggest record in the US, as it debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It’s also 8x platinum in the US.
As a result, Fancy went on to appear on Iggy’s debut studio album, “The New Classic.” That went on to debut at number three on the Billboard 200. At the time, Iggy was also signed to T.I.’s Grand Hustle record label.
Iggy has since release two more studio albums, in 2019, and 2021. However, she is making more business endeavors, which have been setting herself up to be rich forever. Iggy reportedly recently scored an 8-figure deal for her catalog, that includes her recording and publishing. Iggy conducted this deal with Domain Capital.
On Twitter, fans had concerns of Iggy being in a Taylor Swift-like situation, with her music. She soon explained that this is the right situation for her, and that she won’t ever have to work another day in her life.
“Taylor did not profit from that sale. I sold a portion of my catalog to who I wanted, for an amount that means I don’t have to work another day in my life. I love y’all down but the masters conversation is a little beyond most of your understanding of business.”
