East Atlanta trap legend Gucci Mane has found success outside of his rap career by running 1017 Records, who have artists that are influential outside of music. The trap icon has now shown interest in signing incarcerated rapper, B.G.

Recently, Guwop showed interest in signing B.G. by saying he wanted to sign him for $1 million after a video on Twitter seemingly announced he was free from prison. The man getting out of prison in the video was not B.G., and Gucci later deleted the tweet.
The Louisiana rapper was originally signed to Cash Money Records and has been incarcerated since 2012 due to a felony gun charge. Moreover, B.G. is being held at California’s FCI Herlong Detention Center and is scheduled to be released on April 7, 2024.
Other rappers also waiting to go home include Atlanta rappers Young Thug and Gunna, who were indicted on RICO charges.
In October, Dreamville and Atlanta rapper JID was interviewed on The Breakfast Club and was asked if any other label besides Dreamville attempted to sign him in 2017. He then responded by revealing that fellow Atlanta rapper Rich Homie Quan tried to sign him.
“We(along with Atlanta rap duo Earthgang) got offered a deal from Rich Homie Quan,” JID said. He would also call the deal “disgusting” due to the money offered.
