Coi Leray speaks on critics who bashed “Trendsetter” album sales
In 2021, Coi Leray became one of the new stars of the music industry. At the time, she was buzzing with hit singles such as “Big Purr” featuring Pooh Shiesty and “No More Parties” remix, featuring Lil Durk.
This year, Coi kept her momentum going, with even more hot singles. This included “Blick Blick” featuring Nicki Minaj and ‘Twinnem.” These records went on to appear on Coi’s debut studio album, “Trendsetter.” That project went on to debut at 89 on the Billboard 200 chart, with just 11,000 units sold, in its first week.
Despite the charting position and sales, Coi was still very proud of Trendsetter, and the work she put in. She also recently appeared on Amazon Music’s “Bars and Nuggets,” where she discussed this. Coi kept the same energy, and is happy with the position that she’s in.
“They try to sh*t on my album. My album’s about to be gold. Let it be gold and you got to let them know. You got to champion you. They said the first week it sold 11,000 sales. It’s so crazy, because out of all the albums that drop, nobody like, goes viral like that.
