Chris Brown clowns AMAs after cancelation of performance
Last weekend, it was revealed that Chris Brown would not be performing his Michael Jackson tribute, at the 2022 American Music Awards. This came as a shock to Brown, as he soon posted his rehearsal video, for this performance. The show was supposed to be in tribute to Michael Jackson’s 40th anniversary of his classic “Thriller” album.
There has been rumors about why Brown’s performance got canceled, including ABC executives not liking his or Michael Jackson’s character. A statement was soon put out on Sunday, stating that:
“Live shows change all the time, it’s the nature of this business. Unfortunately, this element of the AMAs didn’t come together as we couldn’t align on the performance, to no fault of Chris Brown.”
However, Brown still isn’t feeling what the AMAs did. He took to his Instagram stories to share that the Instagram video of him rehearsing for the performance got more views than the AMAs did, on TV.
However, Brown went on to win an AMA for Favorite Male R&B Artist. To no surprise, though, Brown was not in attendance. Kelly Rowland accepted the award on his behalf, while also giving him his flowers/recognition.
